Today Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu (Hind) has over 650 branches across India. These branches headed by State Secretaries are working tirelessly for the promotion and preservation of Urdu language and culture along secular lines, thereby helping maintain India’s composite ‘Ganga–Jamuni’ culture.
Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu (Hind) has a rich collection of books and manuscripts at its Shibli Memorial Library.
With Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu (Hind)’s appeal in 1936 for the donation of Urdu books along with the purchase of several rare books made by the organisation itself, Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu (Hind) was able to build in a short span of time an enviable collection of Arabic, Persian and Urdu manuscripts and rare books which led to the organisation being known as one of most important libraries of India. The Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu (Hind) proudly introduces the Dr Saiyedna Saifuddin Auditorium @ Urdu Ghar, which is an advanced and meticulously designed venue at par with the best auditoriums and lecture halls in New Delhi. The SSA has been designed in a bespoke manner to exclusively host the distinguished programmes that the Anjuman is renowned for.
We have recently revitalised the SSA to elevate every aspect of the audience’s experience and have equipped it with high-fidelity lighting and acoustics, thereby creating an impeccable environment for lectures, dramatic performances, book launches and diverse cultural gatherings.
