It is regrettable that the Urdu syllabus for junior classes includes no children’s literature. In fact, there is hardly any children’s literature being produced in Urdu. Keeping this in mind, Anjuman initiated an award for creative writing for children in 2015. It is organised every two years, and amounts of Rs 50,000, 25,000 and 10,000 respectively are given to the best three stories.
